2001 Astrological Forecast (written 12/31/00)
A rare Christmas partial eclipse of the sun sends its influence into the new year. This is amplified by several effects. Mercury (and Neptune nearby) was conjunct to the eclipse, and it occured near the first point of Capricorn. This resonates with the currently-occurring beginning of the 25,800 year cycle of the movement of the center of the galaxy against the constellations. The galactic center is currently at 0 degrees Capricorn. This point is the beginning of the rising of light in the cycle, as the light rises from Winter Solstice at the same position in the Zodiac.
The blueprint for the next 26,000 years is being set. Power, authority, government, self discipline and the father principle are being rethought. This has begun with the challenges to our system of electing a president in the U. S., and may result in restructuring of governments and nation boundaries world wide.
The eclipse of the sun (male) by the moon (female) and the spiritual nature of the galactic cycle indicate a new respect of the flame of Mother God for the next year and the next 26,000 years. It may be that the Pope recognizes
Mother Mary's saving power on the par with Jesus Christ. There are hints that he is considering this. Such a move would shake up the religious world profoundly, and perhaps create a schism within the Catholic Church. Look for the Quatenary to replace the Trinity. The new blessing may be "In the name of The Father, The Mother, The Son, and the Holy Spirit."
From mid-January through March there are a cluster of planets in Aquarius, including Mercury, Uranus, and Neptune, (and the Sun for one Month). This Aquarian influence presages radical change, revolution, sudden disasters particularly in communications, the internet, computers. We may see the first glimpses of massive cyber-warfare. A nuclear EMP (electromagnetic pulse attack -- destroying computers and vehicle function) is an outside possibility. Watch out for an escalation of strife in the Middle-East.
Saturn in Taurus has been deflating the overinflated stock market for several months. However, that may begin to ease by the end of April when the planet of restriction and self-discipline moves into Gemini. This will be stressful for those who have not lived within their means. Internet stocks may stabilize at that point.. Perhaps a good time to buy.
Saturn in Gemini for the rest of the year indicates challenges in the transportation industry. Publications and writings are also a big focus while Jupiter is in Gemini as well--through mid-July. Jupiter moving into Cancer at that time indicates the latter part of the year will have a focus on family issues--birth, nurturing, motherhood, abortion. This focus will be political and involve the written word. Abortion is the touchiest political issue now. How will it be when the Bush administration starts to move to protect what they consider to be unborn children?
